How do I preserve my beloved Louboutins?

You just bought your follies from Pigalle, or you may have already scuffed the soles. Either way, the sooner you can get your soles and heels protected, the less likelihood you will need to fully repair your Louboutin red soles.

There are currently several market options for preserving and protecting Louboutin red soles– the most popular among them are Vibram, TOPY, Mirror, and Clear Sole Protectors.

At Shoe Therapy, sole protection means applying permanent half-rubber protective coatings to your soles and to larger heels to protect the underlying leather and original sole. This procedure must be performed by an experienced shoemaker or repairer with experience working with designer footwear.

We use TOPY red soles. These half-rubber soles are only 1 mm thick and are applied to the bottom half of the soles. The modification process involves a slight shaving off of the red-lacquered finish from the Louboutins bottom before sticking the rubber with an adhesive. Rightly done, the red TOPY sole protectors are flushed with the rest of the soles.

This process retains the original soles from wearing out any further and at a later time requiring replacement. This also keeps the shoe bottom red in colour and provides a non-slip surface to secure your step as you walk. When TOPY half-soles are applied to your soles early, it will keep your shoes in good stead for a long time and preserve your investment.
